What is Reduced Fee Counselling?
At Arms Open Counselling, our Reduced Fee Counselling program reflects our commitment to making meaningful mental health support accessible to our community. This program is led by graduate-level student therapists completing their practicum placements, offering care under the close supervision of experienced, licensed clinicians. You’ll receive compassionate, ethical support that’s grounded in current research and guided by a collaborative, team-based approach.
Reduced Fee Counselling may be a good fit if you’re seeking lower-cost therapy without compromising quality of care. It’s especially supportive if you’re new to counselling and unsure where to begin, navigating stress, anxiety, or life transitions, or accessing support without private insurance or workplace benefits. You may also value working with a therapist who brings fresh perspectives, up-to-date training, and a genuine commitment to helping you move forward.

How It Works
Reduced Fee Sessions
Our Reduced Fee Counselling sessions are designed to make therapy more accessible, with rates starting at $60 per session. This option helps remove financial barriers for those without insurance coverage, while still providing meaningful, high-quality support. In some cases, sessions with student therapists who are registered as RP (Qualifying) with the CRPO may be eligible for reimbursement through extended health benefits—coverage can vary, so we recommend checking with your provider.
Supervised, Quality Care
You’ll be supported by graduate-level practicum therapists who have been carefully selected for their empathy, clinical skill, and commitment to inclusive care. While they are in the process of completing their training, they work under the direct supervision of experienced Registered Psychotherapists—ensuring you receive ethical, thoughtful, and well-guided support every step of the way.
A Supportive, Respectful Space
Reduced Fee Counselling at Arms Open Counselling is rooted in compassion, respect for your lived experience, and care that meets you where you are. We believe your story matters, and you deserve a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported—so you can move forward at your own pace, in a way that feels right for you.
